It features a squared band coupled with a gorgeous mokume gane design to create a truly unique piece. Mokume Gane
The mokume gane technique used in this ring was developed in Japan in the 17th century, and it was originally used to make decorative sheaths and handles for samurai swords. It involves layering and blending several different metals together, a challenging process that requires great skill and experience. Joseph Jewelry's Mokume Collection.
Due to the nature of the process, each piece of jewelry created using this technique displays a unique pattern that is often reminiscent of wood grain. The mokume gane in this ring is made using a mix of 14k rose gold, 14k white gold, palladium, and sterling silver.
Band Shape

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
