Description
This stylish men’s wedding ring features a mokume gane inlay in a palladium ring, with a princess cut diamond flush set in the top. It was created for a client from Honolulu, HI, who worked with our team online and over the phone to make sure every detail was exactly right. Mokume Inlay
The middle section of this ring is made up of 14k palladium white gold and sterling silver blended together using the mokume gane technique. This involves layering thin sheets of the selected metals and then combining them in a particular way so that they produce the types of organic patterns seen here.
The types of metals and the specific forging technique used will impact both the color of the mokume and the shape of the pattern. If you are not sure what you would like your mokume to look like, our experts can show you samples of different designs so you can find the one that most appeals to you.
While the nature of the forging process insures that no two mokume pieces will ever come out exactly the same, using identical metal combinations and the same technique can provide about an 80% pattern match. Mokume Jewelry
Princess Cut Diamond
A princess cut diamond is flush set in the middle of the mokume band, and it provides just enough sparkle while not overshadowing the other design elements present in the piece. The diamond was provided by the client, as was the diamond in the women’s ring, and the inclusion of these special stones provided added meaning to these already significant pieces.
Adding a gemstone to your wedding ring is a great way to create a link between the men’s and women’s bands, and it also gives you the opportunity to work in a birthstone or other significant element into your ring. Even if you do not want to put one on the outside as this client did, you could have one set on the inside of the band as a personal touch only you and your partner know about.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
