Custom Men's Mokume Wedding Band
Item #102369Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Gane
The outer mokume section is made up of 14k palladium white gold, 14k rose gold, and sterling silver. It’s also been oxidized and acid etched to achieve the specific mix of colors you see here. After all of that, a brushed finish was applied to keep the surface smooth but also create a matte effect that really complements the mokume nicely. Mokume Jewelry
The smoothness was important to the client, as he works in a kitchen and wanted to avoid the possibility that it could get caught on something or be damaged easily. Another aspect that was important to them was the uniqueness of the piece, which is something that you’ll always get when you include mokume gane in your custom fine jewelry.
The technique used to create the mokume section was originally developed hundreds of years ago in Japan, and it’s quite difficult to master. It involves layering the chosen metals and then forging them so that they combine in a very specific way.
Because of the nature of this process, no two mokume gane pieces will ever be exactly the same. But if you do see a type of pattern that you like in an existing piece, we can use the same technique to create it, and it will come out with about an 80% match to the original.
Custom Engraving
Another way our clients chose to put a personal touch on this ring was by including their signatures hand engraved on the inside of the band. In order to make this visible, they had us use unplated 14k white gold inside the mokume, and our artisans executed their chosen design to perfection as the finishing touch on a truly unique piece.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
