Custom Men's Mokume Wedding Band
Item #102419Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Gane
The beautiful, swirling pattern in the center section of this ring is created by blending several different metals together with a special forging technique. It’s known as mokume gane, and it was first developed several hundred years ago in Japan for use in crafting decorative handles and sheaths for samurai swords.
It takes a great deal of skill and experience to create the type of beautiful mokume seen here, and our expert artisans are especially adept at it. The mokume in this ring was made with a combination of 14k palladium white gold, 14k rose gold, 14k yellow gold, and sterling silver.
Another ring made with the same combination of metals and using the same method would produce about an 80% match in terms of the pattern. But because of the special nature of mokume, no two pieces will every come out exactly the same, and that makes it a great choice for a ring or other item that you want to be truly unique. Contrasting Finishes
On either side of the mokume inlay, 14k rose gold rails create the perfect frame all the way around the band. These are raised up slightly as well, which helps differentiate them even more from the center section. Both the mokume and the rails feature a brushed finish, but the fronts of the ring, as well as the inner portion, have a high polish that creates a nice contrast with the matte effect on top.

Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
