Men's Wedding Band Description

This elegant men’s wedding ring features a princess cut diamond bezel set in unplated white gold, accented by mokume gane inlays and art deco inspired cutouts on the tapered band. It was created for a client from Marina Del Ray, CA, who reached out to us online with questions about a design she wanted to customize. Design Your Own Wedding Ring

We discussed her ideas with her through the online portal we set up to manage her project, and we also used this platform to share images and videos of the center stone options we sourced for her. She provide feedback on the stones and design, and we revised our models to reflect her input until we had every detail perfect.

Center Diamond

At the top of this ring, a 1.10 carat princess cut diamond sits in a bezel setting made of 14k unplated white gold. The warm champagne color of the metal contrasts perfectly with the brilliant white of the stone, helping to create the truly eye-catching look the client was after. The client was very concerned that we find the perfect stone for this ring, and so we brought in and photographed various options so that she could pick out the one she liked best.

Mokume Gane Inlay

An inlay of mokume gane runs down both shank shoulders nearly all the way to the bottom of the band. It’s made from 14k rose gold, 14k white gold and sterling silver, and it was oxidized as well to darken the silver areas and highlight the pattern. The client selected the colors and pattern she liked from some sample pieces on our website, and we used the same techniques used on those rings to produce the look she preferred. Mokume Rings

Band Design and Customization Options

The band is slightly wider than the diamond at the top, and it begins to taper immediately, reaching a much narrower width across the bottom. This allowed for a more comfortable fit, while also creating the dramatic look the client was after. Men’s Custom Wedding Bands

On each ring front, directly below the center diamond, an angular, art deco inspired pattern is cut out of the metal. This was something the client requested to bring more light into the stone, as well as to add some subtle complexity to the design. She supplied some inspiration images to help show the kind of design she was envisioning, and we adapted those to fit in the space available.

To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.
