Custom Mokume Inlay Men's Wedding Band
Item #102360Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Center
The middle of this ring is filled with a mokume gane inlay made with a mix of 14 KT white gold, 14k rose gold, and sterling silver. It has also been oxidized and etched to produce the specific mix of colors, and the brushed finish creates a nice matte look that gives the piece a bit of contemporary flair.
The mokume section is created separately, and it requires a great deal of skill and experience to perfect the technique used. Fortunately, or artisans have both in abundance, and that allows us to include this kind of special feature in any piece of custom jewelry. Mokume Jewelry
Comfort Fit Band
The shape of this band was of particular concern to the client, and we adjusted our design until it met with his expectations. He preferred the rounded look on the outside rather than a flat, squared surface, and the inside features a comfort fit, which is made by introducing a slight rounding there as well. The band itself is 14 KT White Gold, and the brushed rails on the outside of the top of the ring frame the mokume center nicely.
Finish and Metal Options
If you’d like to customize this design to make it better reflect your personal style, there are quite a few ways to go about it. For instance, you could change the combination of metals used to make the mokume, or you could select a different type of pattern for it. While no two mokume pieces will ever be identical, we expect about an 80% match in the pattern of two sets forged in the same manner.
Another way to adjust this piece would be to introduce contrasting finishes on the mokume section and the 14 KT White Gold rails. This would make a more dramatic distinction between the two sections, and there are several different types of finishes you could use to accomplish this. No matter what type of look you’re after, though, our team will work closely with you every step of the way to ensure the piece we create for you perfectly matches your vision. Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
