Custom Mokume Men's Band
Item #103646Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Gane
The band is 7mm wide, and most of the flat top surface is taken up by a mokume gane inlay made from 14k palladium white gold and sterling silver. The organic patterns seen in this inlay are the result of a specialized forging process developed in Japan several hundred years ago and that our artisans have mastered through years of experience. Mokume Jewelry
The mokume is brushed as well, creating a soft matte surface that contrasts nicely with the high polish on the 14k rose gold rails that run along it on either side. These are relatively narrow, and they’re made from gold supplied by the client, which was also used in the women’s wedding ring. This allowed the clients to incorporate an even more personal detail into their set while also creating a link between the men’s and women’s wedding rings.
Hand Engraving
The fronts of this ring are hand-engraved with a lovely interwoven knot work design that was also used on the engagement ring we had made previously for this couple. This type of metalwork is carried out by hand by our expert artisans at the end of the production process, and they can reproduce almost any pattern or symbol you'd like to see. Custom Wedding Rings
The women's wedding ring we made for these clients, while quite different in dimensions and style, also used some of the same gold that was used in the men’s ring. The men’s ring, in turn, incorporated the engraved pattern from the women’s engagement ring, and all of these shared features helped to give the set even more personal significance to the clients.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
