Custom Mokume Wedding Band
Item #102038Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Inlay
The mokume in this particular ring consists of a combination of 14k rose gold and sterling silver. While using the same materials and technique in creating another ring will produce a similar pattern in the finished inlay, no two mokume pieces are ever exactly the same.
The methods used to create this type of piece were originally developed in Japan several hundred years ago, and it remains a challenging technique to master. Fortunately, our skilled artisans have the requisite experience necessary to execute it to perfection, resulting in exquisite pieces like this one. Mokume Jewelry Collection.
Shape and Finish
The mokume inlay in this ring is actually slightly concave, with adds another subtle layer of texture to the design. The sandblasted finish on the mokume also contrasts nicely with the polished 14k white gold rails, and the antique black rails running between those two sections give the piece a sense of completion.
Customization Options
While this may seem like a simple design, there are still many ways you can customize it and make it your own. For instance, you can adjust the width of the band depending on the size of your hand and how you like your rings to fit. You could also use a different type of metal for the band itself. Platinum is always a popular option for men’s wedding bands due to its durability, and rose or yellow gold could help create a more classical or vintage look if that’s what you’re after.
The mokume gane portion of the ring is another area ripe for customization, as you can mix and match different combinations of metals until you get the look you’re going for. This particular ring only uses two metals to make the mokume, but you can include three or even four if you choose.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
