Band Design
This band is 7mm wide and made of 18k yellow gold. This yellow gold is visible on the entire inner surface, as well as the ring fronts. On the top of the band, only the narrow yellow gold rails framing the inlay show through, and these provide classical warmth as well as a nice, finished look for the piece. Men’s Custom Wedding Bands
Damascus Steel Inlay
The majority of the top surface of the band is covered by a Damascus steel inlay that displays the wonderful and organic patterns that characterize this type of metal. In order to highlight these designs, the steel was oxidized, creating darker areas that also enhance the contrast with the warmth of the yellow gold rails.
Contrasting Finishes
The Damascus steel inlay is brushed to create a soft matte surface, and this type of finish also enhances the texture of the patterns within the steel. The rails, on the other hand, are polished to a high shine, which provides another layer of contrast between the two sections of the design.
Customizing this ring could involve experimenting with different types or combinations of finishes, as using a sandblasted finish on the center section rather than the brushed would produce a different type of matte effect. You may also want to adjust the width of the band to whatever’s most comfortable for you, or you could switch to a different type of metal for the band itself.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
