Men's Mokume Wedding Band
Item #103893Men's Wedding Band Description
You can begin this process by reaching out to us online, or by visiting one of our showrooms, which are located in Bellevue, WA and Seattle, WA, in person. We’ll take your ideas and turn them into highly-detailed digital models that we’ll share with you through the online workroom we set up to manage your project. Only once you’re completely satisfied with these models will we turn things over to our expert artisans to begin production.
Mokume Gane
This ring is made up of a combination of 14k rose gold, 14k palladium white gold and sterling silver, all three of which are mixed together using the special mokume gane technique. This method was developed several hundred years ago in Japan for use in sheaths and handles for samurai swords, and it was later adapted for other uses, including in fine jewelry.
To make a ring like this, our artisans layer thin sheets of the selected metals together and then forge them in a particular way to produce the swirling, organic patterns seen here. Due to the nature of this process, no two mokume gane pieces will ever be exactly the same, although we can use the same technique to create about an 80% pattern match if you find a design you particularly like. Contrasting Finishes
The darkest sections of this ring are made of sterling silver that’s been oxidized to produce the black antique look. This adds definition and contrast to the design, and this effect is amplified by the use of contrasting hammered and brushed finishes on the top of the band. Men’s Custom Wedding Bands
The hammered finish is what gives the top of the ring its irregular surface, and this works well with the organic nature of the mokume design to create a consistent feel for the ring. On top of the hammered finish, the ring is also brushed to produce a matte effect.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
