Men's Unplated Mokume Wedding Band
Item #103892Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Gane Inlay
The middle section of this ring is made up of a combination of 14k rose gold, 14k palladium white gold and sterling silver. These three metals have been forged together using the mokume gane technique, and that’s what led to the creation of the swirling organic patterns they exhibit. The sterling silver has also been oxidized to produce a black antiquing effect that heightens the contrast and helps to highlight the intricate details of the design. Men’s Custom Wedding Bands
Band Design
This ring is 8mm wide, and it’s made of unplated 14k white gold. The mokume gane inlay dominates the top surface, running all the way around the ring and extending nearly to the edges on each side. Narrow white gold rails frame the mokume section, however, and these bring a nice balance and finished feel to the piece, while also adding another level of contrast to the design.
The inlay is separated from the rails by a narrow groove, and the entire surface is brushed to create a matte effect. This helps highlight the contrast relationship between the various metals used in the piece, and it adds to the sleek elegance of the design as well. Mokume Jewelry
Customization Options
If you’re interested in modifying this design, you could experiment with using a combination of finishes to make the separation between the sections more pronounced. For instance, you could keep the brushed finish on the center section while switching to a high polish on the rails, or vice versa. You may also want to choose a different combination of metals for the mokume gane section, and our experts will show you examples of different combinations to help you make the right choices to produce the look you’re after.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
