Mokume And Zirconium Wedding Band
Item #102939 $2,553Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Gane Inlay
The top surface of this band is dominated by a mokume gane inlay made from 18k yellow gold, 14k palladium white gold, and sterling silver. These metals were oxidized to produce the darker coloring for the silver that helps clarify the patterns within the inlay, and as part of the custom design process, you can choose a different combination of metals to get exactly the look you’re after.
The process of producing mokume gane involves layering thin sheets of the various metals together and then forging them in a particular way. The result of that is the flowing, organic patterns seen in this piece, and because of the way it’s made, no two mokume pieces will ever be exactly the same. Mokume Jewelry
Zirconium Band Design
The band of this ring is 8.5mm wide and made of blackened zirconium. This is an extremely hard but light metal, and it’s shatter-proof unlike tungsten, which is similar in appearance. The band is squared, with sides that curve out gently, and softly-pointed corners. The inner margin of the ring is smooth and round, however, with a slightly domed surface that produces a comfort fit. Men’s Custom Wedding Bands
On the top of the ring, the only zirconium visible is what makes up the step rails that frame the mokume inlay. The inner margin of these lies at the level just above the inlay, and the rails take a step down as they move away from the center. That angular design for the rails works well with the squared shape of the band to produce a modern and masculine look.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
