Mokume Men's Wedding Band
Item #102546Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Inlay
The center section of this piece is made of a band of mokume gane, which our skilled artisans forged by layering several different types of metal together and then combining them in a particular way. The technique they used was first developed in Japan hundreds of years ago, and it produces a completely unique piece every time.
If you like a pattern you see in one of our existing mokume pieces, we can use the same metals and method for combining them to produce about an 80% pattern match. But when you include mokume gane in your fine custom jewelry, you can be assured that no other piece will ever be exactly the same.
In the case of this particular ring, the mokume is composed of 14k palladium white gold, 14k rose gold, 14k yellow gold, and sterling silver. After it was forged, the piece was oxidized and acid etched to produce the darker sections and to highlight the intricacy of the pattern. Finally, it was sandblasted to create a matte finish that contrasts nicely with the polished rails on either side.
Hand Engraving and Milgrain
These rails are made of 14k rose gold, and the lovely wheat pattern engraved on them ties in nicely with the lines of the mokume pattern between. This engraving is also lined with milgrain beading, which frames them beautifully and adds some vintage flair along the way. They sit slightly above the surface of the mokume as well, and this helps emphasize their separation from the inlay while simultaneously giving the design an additional level of subtle complexity. Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
