Custom Black Diamonds And Hammered Men's Wedding Band
Item #102303 $4,039Men's Wedding Band Description
After she shared the inspiration photo with our team, we came up with several estimates for the different design options, and she and her fiancee came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to discuss them. They ultimately decided to use the version of the ring with the diamonds running only along the top half of the ring in order to get the look they wanted while still staying within their budget.
Black Diamonds
Black diamonds are a popular option for men’s wedding rings especially, thanks to their exotic look and rich, dark color. Used as they are in this ring, they add just the right amount of subtle sparkle while still maintaining a distinctly masculine feel for the piece.
The diamonds in this ring are round and channel set, which helps give the ring a more contemporary feel. If you like this general design but prefer a more classical style, you could switch to bright cut set diamonds. Or if you want to take things in the other direction, you could use princess cut diamonds in the same type of channel setting. These would sit flush with the surface of the band for a sleek, modern look.
Combination Finish
To get the right kind of surface on the band, the client elected to go with a combination of finishes. We first hammered the surface to create the undulating, asymmetric pattern that covers the band all the way around. Then, we used a brushed finish to give the ring a more matte appearance, which complements the pattern of the hammered surface and also helps the diamonds to stand out.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.

For anyone looking to create a custom ring, this is the place to go! My fiance found a picture of a ring that he wanted on the internet and we could not find ANYWHERE to buy it. After searching places for custom ring design I stumbled on Joseph Jewelry and was so happy that they were just down the road from us. I emailed them the picture and they said it should be no problem to create it and told us to come in whenever to get the details figured out. When we went to their store the employees couldn't be more helpful. They wanted to make sure that we had EXACTLY what we wanted. After a half hour or so we had finalized all the details. Anyone planning a wedding knows how expensive they are and I was worried about paying for the ring and financing yet another thing. They explained to me that I could make payments on their website whenever I wanted and when half of the payment was received they would create the CAD design and send it to us to make sure it was correct. Then the would create the ring. When the final payment was made we could come pick it up. It was so simple and wonderful! We picked the ring up and they had to make one small change that was done that very same day. The ring looked better than we had ever expected! I only wish we would have visited them before purchasing my engagement ring! :)
