This designer is known for utilizing traditional elements in unconventional ways, often in order to explore floral or organic themes. This piece is no exception, and it’s also emblematic of the way the designer incorporates light in interesting ways to produce a distinctive look.
Carved Pearl
The main body of this pendant is composed of a 10mm freshwater pearl that’s been carved into the shape of a lily flower. The flowing lines of the carving produce an elegant and organic feel for the piece that are directly inline with the natural themes it explores. The carving also creates an undulating surface that reflects light in many different ways, a detail that helps to highlight the multifaceted beauty of the pearl itself.
Rather than rely on a separately attached bale, this piece utilizes a hold drilled right through the top half of the pearl to connect it to the chain. This arrangement ensures that the piece hangs properly at all times when worn, and it also keeps the visual focus squarely on the pendant body. Pendants
Emerald Accent
In the center of the front of the pearl, a small circle of metal holds a round emerald in a six prong setting. These two elements bring a splash of color and a striking contrast, both with the pearl and with each other, adding a dynamic quality to the design. Their colors also enhance the floral themes of the piece overall, and they contribute some classical warmth as well.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
