Description
This exquisite pendant features a large blue tanzanite bar set at the bottom, accented by bar set round diamonds within a delicate metal framework. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA as part of a custom set that also included these earrings, and we made a matching ring for this client at the same time as well.

The client visited our Bellevue, WA showroom in person to begin the custom design process, and she brought with her all of the stones she wanted to use. She discussed her vision for the set with our team, and we developed a unique design for her in CAD. She wasn’t inspired by these models, however, and so we came up with some sketches of alternate arrangements for all of the pieces in the set, and she eventually settled on this one.
Blue Tanzanite
The centerpiece of this design is a 8.95 carat cushion cut blue tanzanite. It’s oriented with its rounded corners at the compass positions as well, which allows it to flow smoothy with the overall framework of the pendant. The rich blue of the stone contrasts wonderfully with the silvery metal, and it’s echoed in the tanzanites that anchor both earrings in the set as well. Design Your Own Jewelry
Diamond Accents and Pendant Design
Just above the tanzanite, a round diamond is bar set, and it’s topped by a smaller round diamond. All three of these stones are contained within the main section of the pendant, which is composed of two flat pieces of metal that curve inward and then away from each other on their way down from the top where the chain passes through.
Outside of this section, four more small round diamonds are set between the inner strands and the outer. These outer strands curve more dramatically than their counterparts, in part to allow space for the accents themselves. This overall arrangement loosely echoes the shape of the matching earrings, and it creates just the type of elegant, minimalist look the client was after.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
