Description
This stunning pendant features a beautiful emerald surrounded by a halo of round diamonds, with custom filigree completing the basket. It was created for a client from Edmonds, WA, who came to us with two older pieces she wanted to turn into new custom designs. She initially contacted us online, and she also visited us in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom as the projects moved forward to ensure all details were just the way she wanted them.

Emerald Center
The emerald in the center of this pendant is 0.7 carats and emerald cut, giving it a rectangular shape with truncated corners. These contours are complemented nicely by the use of four squared prongs holding it in place.
Diamond Halo and Accents
Surrounding the emerald is a halo of round shared prong set diamonds, and the contours of this halo follow those of the center stone to give it an elongated shape with the same truncated corners as the emerald. The brilliant white color of the diamonds contrasts wonderfully with the green of the larger stone to enhance the beauty of both, and the additional light the diamonds reflect back up onto the emerald only help it shine more brightly.
Three round diamonds are shared prong set on top of the halo, and these enable the transition from the pendant itself up to the bale that connects to the necklace chain. The arrangement of the extra diamonds follows the angle of the halo as well, making it seem like the natural continuation of that element and a perfect finishing touch to the design.
Pendant Design
Behind the gemstones, the body of the pendant is shaped into a basket to protect the gems and balance out the piece. The sides of this basket are formed by lovely hand-made scroll filigree, a wonderful and personal touch that can be customized to reflect something with personal significance to you. 3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
