Description
This lovely pendant features two overlapping hearts with contrasting finishes. It was created for a client from Bellevue, WA, who came into our showroom to discuss the type of piece they had in mind. We developed this design and shared it online with the client as part of our custom design process before sending it into production.

Pendant Design
The two hearts that make up this piece are the same size, and they cross over each other in such a way that the left curve from one and the right curve from the other line up perfectly. In order to make clear the distinction between the two, one heart is slightly thicker, so that it stands out farther than the other.
The chain attaches to the non-overlapping loop of each heart, helping it to hang level and giving the entire piece a nice sense of balance. The minimalist way the chain integrates with the piece also helps keep the hearts as the main focus.
Contrasting Finishes
We utilized contrasting finishes to further separate the two heart figures that make up the body of the pendant. The thinner of the two has a satin finish, while the thicker heart is polished to a high shine. This also adds some complexity to the design without making it frilly or sparkly, which is just the look the client was going for.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
