Center Sapphire
This pendant is built around the trillion shaped blue sapphire at its center, which is prong set in 14k white gold and oriented with two corners at the bottom and one at the top. The chevron prongs holding it cradle each corner elegantly, and this protects the stone from damage while also highlighting the delicate shape of its cut.
Sapphires are available in many colors, so one good way to customize this piece could be to switch to a different shade. You may want to use eye color, a favorite color, or even a birthstone to give the design special meaning, and our gemstone experts will find the perfect stone to serve as the centerpiece of your pendant.
Diamond Accents and Pendant Design
Surrounding the sapphire is a contoured halo of round bright cut set diamonds. The way the halo mirrors the shape of the larger stone helps highlight its graceful lines, and the sparkle of the diamonds contrasts wonderfully with the rich blue of the sapphire.
A link at the top of the halo connects this lower portion of the pendant to a marquise shaped ring that’s also lined with bright cut set diamonds. Another, slightly more elongated ring, also lined with diamonds, sits above that, and this connects finally to the bale. The size of the sapphire and the length of the links that lead up to the bale balance each other nicely, and the overall design ensures the pendant will hang properly when worn.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
