Carved Tahitian Pearl
The main body of this pendant is made up of a large, black Tahitian pearl that’s been carved in an organic style. The carving consists mainly of teardrop-shaped depressions arranged in a regular staggered pattern around the sides of the pearl. In the middle of the front surface is a round depression, and this is the point that the other depressions converge on.
A tapered bale emerges directly from the top of the pearl in a position that maintains the circular depression facing forward when the piece is worn. The elegant curves of the bale complement the shape of the carving on the pearl below, helping to create a link between the two sections of the piece. Pendants
Diamond and Turquoise
The central round depression in the pearl is lined with a white rim, and a small round diamond is bezel set at the lowest point. Although the diamond is only 0.04 carats, its brilliant sparkle is intensified by the way it reflects off of the surrounding metal, as well as by the contrast with the rich colors of the pearl.
Each of the teardrop-shaped depressions is accented by turquoise, which works to clarify the pattern and also adds a dramatic splash of color to the piece. The turquoise intensifies the organic themes already present as well, as it introduces a floral quality to the design.
