This elegant pendant features a specialty-cut green sphene, framed beautifully in a half bezel setting. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who wanted us to create the perfect piece to display her gemstone. Our design team worked with her in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom as well as online to ensure she was completely satisfied with the design we came up with.

Specialty-Cut Sphene
Sphene is a rare and exotic gemstone that comes in several different colors ranging from yellow to green to brown. The stone used in this pendant has a beautiful green color that contrasts nicely with the warmth of the metal used to make the setting. Its elongated specialty cut gives the pendant a nice shape and balance, and the openness of the setting really lets the gem’s natural beauty shine through.
Half Bezel Setting
The half bezel setting used in this pendant was chosen for its ability to hold the stone securely while also showing off as much of it as possible. It mirrors the curvature on the shorter ends of the sphene, and it extends back along the sides to increase security while not hiding too much of the gem.
The front edges of the setting are studded with bright cut set diamonds to add just a bit of sparkle. The brilliant white of these diamonds also plays off the rich green of the sphene to effectively enhance the beauty of both types of stones.

Design and estimate
The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.
3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
Lifetime warranty and care
- Lifetime warrantyYour custom piece is covered against manufacturing defects.
- Inspection every six monthsOur jewelers inspect your piece and provide ongoing care for the custom jewelry we make for you.
- Complimentary cleaningVisit us every six months for a complimentary cleaning.
Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
