Custom Opal And Diamond Pendant
Item #101991Pendant Description
They worked with us primarily in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom to iron out the details of the piece and ensure we had everything just right. Thanks to our talented design team and skilled artisans, we were able to produce this one-of-a-kind pendant, and they were very happy with the result.
Black Opal
The black opal in this pendant is quite rare, and it was custom cut into two stones so that the second piece could be used in the men’s wedding band that makes up the other part of this set. It is cabochon cut with a slightly tapered shape, and it’s framed beautifully by the 14k white gold bezel setting.
Diamond Accents
The diamonds used here are worked in subtly, but they have a huge impact on the overall appearance of the piece. They also help to create a link to the rest of the wedding set, as diamonds are traditionally used in wedding and engagement rings due to the overtones of love, purity, and beauty they carry with them.
Tapering round diamonds are bright cut set in the bail of this piece, adding a nice bit of sparkle above the main pendant. And the braided design surrounding the opal also has round diamonds burnish set in alternating spaces. The use of this type of setting creates a delicate sparkling effect without the diamonds really jumping out and overshadowing the opal.
Hand-made Filigree
The sides of the pendant are filled in with an ornate hand-made filigree, whose curves complement the braided border of the front setting. This type of detail is completed by our skilled artisans, and because it’s done by hand, we can replicate many different types of shapes and designs. Customizing the filigree is a good way to include a feature of personal significance to your custom piece. Design Your Own Jewelry
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
