Description
This beautiful pendant features a round pink sapphire encircled in a halo of round diamonds. It was created for a client from Edmonds, WA, who used our website to request a quote for repurposing some of her old jewelry into new pieces. We worked with her to develop the designs for several pendants including this one, and she came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to pick up her completed pieces.

Pink Sapphire Center
The center of this pendant is a 0.9 carat round pink sapphire that’s shared prong set using the inner ring of prongs involved in the diamond halo. This creates a lovely effect, as the eleven prongs holding the sapphire beautifully complement its shape. The choice of a shared prong setting also minimizes the amount of metal needed while still holding the stone securely, and that further pushes the gems into the spotlight.
Diamond Halo and Basket
Twelve round diamonds form a halo around the sapphire, and these add wonderful sparkle to the piece. Their brilliant white color contrasts nicely with the warm pink of the center stone, and they also help it shine more brightly by reflecting additional light up onto it.
A small basket makes up the body of the pendant, protecting the backs of the stones and giving the piece a sense of completion. The sides are formed from hand-made filigree in an organic pattern that further enhances the floral theme created by the arrangement of the gemstones in the front.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
