Custom Ruby And Diamond Pendant
Item #103527 Price includes chainPendant Description
The client provided the diamonds for each pendant, and she had initially asked to see renderings of this design with the ruby along with a similar one with a pearl as the main stone. This second pendant was for her granddaughter, and since she didn’t like the look of the pearl, she decided to go with the alexandrite instead. Design Your Own Jewelry
Ruby and Diamond
The centerpiece of this pendant is a 1.24 carat bar-set emerald cut ruby and oriented lengthwise. The sides of the ruby extend beyond the margins of the setting, making it the widest point of the pendant. The sleek metal at the top and the bottom does cover the flat surface on both ends, providing a nice frame and a satisfying balance to the design.
Directly below the ruby, a 0.07 carat round diamond is bar set, and its diameter is exactly the same as the width of the setting. The client provided this stone, and its brilliant white sparkle, along with its perfect curves, produces a striking contrast with the rich red and clean lines of the larger ruby above. Pendants
Pendant Design and Customization Options
The top of the pendant that extends up from the ruby consists of a strip of metal about twice as long as the ruby. This doubles as the bale, and it’s open on the sides to allow the chain to pass straight through.
Customizing this pendant could involve any number of modifications, from using a different combination of gemstones to switching to another type of metal. Adding some custom hand engraving on the flat front surface of the bale is an option as well, as is changing the cut and setting style of the gemstones used.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
