This elegant pendant features a cushion cut blue zircon surrounded by a halo of diamonds. It was created as part of a matching gift set for a client from Bellevue, WA to go with earrings #101176, and we worked closely with him throughout the design process to ensure we got every detail of both pieces exactly to his liking.

Blue Zircon
The lovely blue-green zircon seen here is just over 6.5 carats and cut in a slightly rectangular cushion shape, which gives the pendant a nice balance.
Zircon is one of the most ancient gems, and it’s found in several different varieties and colors. Blue zircon in particular is associated with strength and well-being generally, as well as love and happiness in your relationship.
Diamond Accents
Enhancing both the symbolic meaning and the appearance of the zircon in this piece are accent diamonds that frame the main stone in a slightly squared halo. These are shared prong set, and that helps add to the vintage appearance of the piece.
There is also a larger diamond in a four prong setting atop the bail, right where the pendant connects to the chain, and this stone’s sparkling white contrasts perfectly with the bright blue-green of the zircon, while its round shape balances the larger stone’s slightly squared outline nicely.
Basket Filigree
Behind the halo of accent diamonds, a custom basket ensures the zircon will stay securely in place. But this design element isn’t without significance either, as the sides of the basket are made up of a delicate hand-made filigree in an S shape running all the way around. This extra touch helps give the piece an added elegance, and it also offers an opening for added symbolism, as our expert craftsmen can customize this type of filigree into any one of a variety of shapes that may hold special meaning for you. After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
