Description
This beautiful women’s wedding ring features marquise and round diamonds bar set in an alternating pattern across the top of the narrow platinum band. It was created for a client from San Francisco, CA for whom we’d previously made a custom engagement ring. She came to us with an idea of the type of wedding band she wanted, and we used her inspiration pieces along with the other information she provided to develop a unique design that was exactly in line with her vision.

In addition to working back and forth with our design team through the online platform we set up to manage her project, she also stopped by our Bellevue, WA showroom in person to view a wax model of the piece. Later on in the design process, we shipped her some revised wax models to compare, and that allowed her to make a fully-informed decision about the final version of the design she wanted to approve. Marquise and Round Diamonds
There are seven diamonds total in this ring, with four marquise and three round arranged in an alternating pattern across the top half of the band. The marquise are much larger, with the four combining to weigh 0.59 carats, while the three round total 0.10 carats. All of the diamonds are bar set in platinum, and this allows the margins of the diamonds to describe the margins of the band as well. Women’s Custom Wedding Bands
The client had initially wanted to explore designs using only marquise stones. She later asked to see what the ring would look like with this alternating arrangement, and she experimented with different layouts for the round and marquise diamonds until she found one she liked.
Matching Wedding Sets
While we didn’t make the two rings in her wedding set at the same time, we were able to use the CAD images from the client’s existing engagement ring to help inform the design of the wedding band. Having both rings in your wedding set made to match can greatly enhance the glamour of the display when you wear the two together, and it can also enable you to include shared features that create a special connection between the rings.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
