Contoured Band Design
This band is straight across the bottom, but it begins to curve almost immediately as it rises up towards the top. There are two shallower curves on the sides, and the one at the top is the deepest, as it has to accommodate the center setting on the companion engagement ring.
The unique shape of this band is dictated by the curves in the engagement ring, which features a split, criss-cross shank. By following the contours of this matching ring exactly, the wedding band helps create a truly dazzling display through the union of two pieces that were clearly meant to go together. Diamond Accents
Split prong set diamonds run from the three-quarter point on one side of the band all the way across the top to the same spot on the other. This alignment is the same as what’s found on the engagement ring as well, and the use of the same setting style ensures that the two pieces complement each other perfectly.
Custom Wedding Sets
Particularly if you’re interested in a design like this, it’s a good idea to have both rings in your set made at the same time. That’s because we’ll need to use the engagement ring to ensure the wedding band is properly shaped to sit flush alongside it, as well as to match other features like gemstones and hand engraving if that’s something you want to include in your piece. We can always make a contoured wedding band to match an engagement ring you already have, but we would likely need to borrow the existing piece during the production process to ensure a perfect fit.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
