This delicate and elegant women’s wedding band features a mokume gane pattern with a sandblasted finish. It was custom designed for a client to go with engagement ring #101566 , and the organic pattern of the mokume works well to complement the natural flow of both pieces.
The mokume gane technique was originally developed in Japan in the 1700s for use in crafting ornamental handles and sheaths for samurai swords. It involves layering several different types of metal together and then fusing them to create the unique pattern each piece displays.
This process is highly labor-intensive, requiring a great deal of skill and experience to execute effectively, and this is just one of the many assets our artisans bring to every project we take on. The mokume in this ring is a combination of 14k rose gold, palladium, 14k white gold, and sterling silver, and these colors blend beautifully to create an elegant pattern reminiscent of wood grain.
Engagement Ring Complement
Having a wedding band that interacts with the engagement ring as this one does is a wonderful way to highlight the beauty and significance of both pieces. The slight dip and curve of this ring allow it to wrap perfectly around the engagement ring that completes the set, and the swirling nature of the mokume design are a nice complement to the shape of the ring itself. And while it does combine nicely with the engagement ring, this is also a delicate and elegant standalone piece.
