You can begin by reaching out to us through our website, or you can stop by our Bellevue, WA showroom in person. We’ll discuss your ideas with you, and we’ll use the information you share to develop a unique piece for you in CAD. This can be modified as many times as necessary to make sure it’s perfectly in line with your vision, and we won’t turn anything over to our expert artisans to begin production until we receive your explicit approval to do so.
Amethyst Centers
The centerpieces of this design are two cushion shaped, checkerboard cut amethysts, both of which are bezel set in 14k white gold. The contrast between the silvery shine of the metal and the rich purple color of the stones brings a dynamic flair to the set, and it helps to highlight the natural beauty of both elements.
The top surfaces of the amethysts are covered by an arrangement of facets that produces an alternating pattern of dark and light spaces as the stones are viewed from different angles. This results in a design reminiscent of a checkerboard, which is where the cut gets its name. Earrings
Filigree and Milgrain
The backs of the stones are protected by baskets of filigree that continue on to connect directly to the posts of the earrings. These baskets incorporate geometric designs as well as decorative beading to produce a decidedly vintage look for the piece. The filigree shapes are also lined by smaller milgrain beading, double rows of which extend up to run along the margins of the bezel settings holding the amethysts.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
