Custom Diamond Halo Stud Earrings
Item #102987Earrings Description
We showed her a few different options for the way we could lay out her new pieces, and she also came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to view a wax model of the design before giving her final approval to begin production.
Diamonds and Halos
The two center diamonds in these earrings are each about three quarters of a carat and 5.8mm in diameter. They’re round brilliant cut, and they were originally set by themselves in classic stud earrings we made for the client. She loved them, but she wanted them to look bigger, and that’s why she came to us with her custom design request.
In order to create a halo that would appear to be one large diamond, we utilized a half bezel setting and slightly larger accent diamonds. These larger stones have the same type of faceting as the center, which helps them blend better than smaller stones would. The half bezel settings create a smooth edge around the outside as well, leaving a clean surface and no spaces between the stones.
Basket Design
Our initial rendering of the new earrings had a scroll filigree forming the sides of the basket. The client preferred to keep the same type of basket design as her originals, however, with clean straight lines that keep all of the emphasis on the diamonds at the top. We adjusted our model to match this vision, and she was very happy with the way the earrings turned out.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
