This stunning engagement ring features a cushion shaped black diamond, prong set in white gold, and surrounded by a halo of round white diamonds. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who worked with our team online and in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom to make sure we perfectly captured his vision for the piece.

Black Diamond Center
The stone at the center of this ring is a 3.12 carat cushion shaped black diamond that is prong set in 18k white gold. It creates a truly striking look for the piece while still staying with the tradition of a diamond center for an engagement ring, and that makes this a wonderful example of the many ways traditional elements can be incorporated into a fully unique custom piece.
Diamond Halo and Accents
Surrounding the center stone is a halo of round bright cut set white diamonds, whose brilliant sparkle stands in perfect opposition to the rich luster of the larger black stone. Bright cut set diamond accents also line the shoulders of the shank, extending down to the three-quarter point on the band. And as a finishing touch, two bright cut set diamonds are also incorporated into the filigree on both ring fronts. Halo Engagement Rings
Milgrain and Filigree
All accent diamonds in this ring are lined with milgrain beading, which frames them perfectly while bringing some vintage flair to the piece. The filigree on the fronts of the main setting break up the space under the center stone, and the way the lines angle in here balances nicely with the outward angles of the black diamond above.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
Lifetime warranty and care

- Inspection every six monthsOur jewelers inspect your piece and provide ongoing care for the custom jewelry we make for you.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
