Description

This classically-inspired engagement ring features a radiant cut diamond prong set in white gold with split prong set accents on the band. It was created for a client from Richland, WA, who came into our Bellevue showroom to view some examples and pick out the styles he liked.

We posted CAD images of the piece we designed for him online, and he quickly approved it to move into production. In fact, he was so happy with the way it turned out that he came back to us when it was time to have a matching wedding band made. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Center Diamond

At the center of this ring is a dazzling radiant cut diamond that the client provided. It’s held in a 14k white gold four prong setting, and it is oriented to sit lengthwise across the band. In this position, the diamond is in line with the finger when worn, which helps create a delicate, glamorous look.

Diamond Accents

There is a ring of split prong set diamonds that faces out running around the lower portion of the main setting. These add some surprise sparkle to the piece, as they are tucked slightly under the larger stone and only visible from certain angles.

Tying in with these are additional split prong set round diamonds that run down both shank shoulders to the mid-point on the band. This arrangement helps reinforce the classical themes of the piece, and it offers a satisfying counterpoint to the large, angular stone at the top.

Matching Wedding Sets

When the time came to design a matching wedding band for this engagement ring, we presented three different options to the client. One involved alternating bezel and tension set diamonds in an eternity pattern, while the other two used split prong set diamonds just like the engagement ring.

The latter two designs differed only slightly, with one having a cutout at the top to accommodate the main setting on the engagement ring to allow them to sit flush against each other. The third design was a split prong set eternity band with no cutout, and this was the option the clients eventually decided on. Matching Wedding Sets

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Diamond and gemstone selection
We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
Final inspection
Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
