This lovely engagement ring features a cushion cut blue sapphire, accented on either side by brilliant cut diamonds, all set in a hand engraved white gold band. It was created as part of a bridal set for a client from Olean, NY to go with wedding band #101958, and our team in Bellvue, WA worked closely with him online to ensure we got all of the details that were important to him just right.

Center Sapphire
The stone at the center of this ring is a stunning blue sapphire with a full, rich color. It would stand out in any crowd, but its wonderful intensity is accentuated nicely by the contrast with the diamonds and the polished white gold.
While they might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of engagement rings, sapphires have actually been used in this role for a long time. They represent wisdom, loyalty, sincerity, and truth, making them a fitting choice for so significant a piece.
Accent Diamonds
On each side of the center stone sit two round brilliant cut set diamonds, with the larger of the two occupying the position closer to the sapphire. This effectively tapers the center setting, helping it come down smoothly to meet the tapered shank as it reaches up.
And just for a little extra sparkle, two bezel set diamonds are include on each of the fronts of the ring. These are worked smoothly into the swirl filigree below the main setting, and they help to accent the pattern nicely.
Matching Features
Because this ring was made at the same time as its companion wedding band, we were able to ensure the two line up perfectly when worn together. But that’s not the only benefit to having your rings made as a set. Doing so also enables us to complete all hand engraving and other detailing simultaneously, so that we can be sure it matches exactly.
Because you’ll probably always wear these two rings together, it’s nice to be able to include the same types of details on both, so that they complement each other fully. Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
