Description

This stunning engagement ring features a pear shaped aquamarine prong set atop a tapered white gold shank, with diamond, milgrain, and custom hand-engraved accents. It was created for a client from Augusta, GA, who used the Ring Builder tool on our website to select the types of gemstones and other features he wanted included in his piece.

Using this information, we developed an original design for him, and we shared the sketch with him through the online workroom we set up for the project. He loved this initial outline, and so we proceeded to create a highly-detailed CAD representation of the ring, which he also approved without adjustment. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Center Aquamarine

At the top of this ring, a 0.60 carat pear shaped aquamarine is held in place by five white gold prongs. The stone’s delicate blue color is complemented perfectly by the silvery tones of the metal, and this contrast really helps it stand out.

Diamond Accents

Two round diamonds sit in line with the band on each shank shoulder, directly adjacent to the main aquamarine. They’re all prong set, and their brilliant white helps intensify the sparkle of the larger stone as well.

There are also two accent diamonds integrated into the filigree on each ring front. These are each bezel set in the center of the largest curl, directly below the main setting. They add a nice, unexpected sparkle to the ring, and they also bring a satisfying balance to the design.

Custom Hand Engraving and Milgrain

Beyond the accent diamonds on the shoulders, the top of the band is smooth and polished all the way around. The fronts of the band, however, are covered with a beautiful hand-engraved scroll pattern, and this is lined with milgrain beading for some added vintage flair. Vintage Engagement Rings

Because accents like this are added by hand as the last step in the production process, they can be customized to a great degree, making it possible for you to include a design or symbol with special personal significance in your piece.

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.

Quality

Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

Structure and support
The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
Diamond and gemstone selection
We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
Final inspection
Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
