If you’d like to learn more about the custom design process, you can visit our Bellevue, WA showroom in person or reach out to our team online. We’ll show you an array of sample pieces based on your stated style and feature preferences, and we’ll help you determine precisely what elements you’d like to integrate into your unique ring.
Center Diamond
The only gemstone in this piece is a large marquise cut diamond that’s chevron prong set in 18k white gold. It’s oriented to sit lengthwise across the band, placing it in line with the finger when the ring is worn. This helps to emphasize the elegant lines of the cut, and it also has an elongating effect on the finger of the wearer. Diamond Engagement Rings
Filigree and Milgrain
The top of the ring where the diamond sits is the widest part of the band. It tapers dramatically from there, eventually reaching its narrowest point across the very bottom of the ring. The shank shoulders, all the way down to below the mid-point on each side, are composed of an ornate and intricate custom filigree design that incorporates scrolls and overlapping loops vaguely reminiscent of Celtic knot patterns.
Close to the side of the center setting, two of these loops pass near each other, creating a heart shape that adds even more romantic flair to the ring. Every piece of filigree on the shank is lined with a double row of milgrain beading, which helps to highlight the design and bring some vintage flair to the ring as well.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
