Our custom design process begins with inspiration designs and mockups. Then, our designers create 3D CAD and renders of your design with 100% accurate proportions. At this point, you can view a wax model and make unlimited modifications. Once you're entirely happy with the design, we create the design in precious metal and gemstones. Center Marquise Diamond
At the top of this ring, a 2.05 carat marquise diamond is cradled in a prong setting made of platinum. The prongs are elegantly clustered around the stone’s two ends, providing protection from damage as well as structural security.
The stone is positioned to lay in line with the band, an arrangement that helps to highlight the size and elegant lines of the marquise cut. This is called an East-West setting, referencing a compass. While it is not the most common setting direction for an elongated stone, in the last few years the East-West setting has become very popular. Halo Engagement Rings
Pave Accents
Around the beautiful marquise center diamond, a pave diamond halo is tilted outward. There are two rows around the center with additional pave diamonds on the gallery supports. Finally, pave diamonds also cover the top half of the ring in two continuous rows.
Pave is a traditional French setting style of diamonds. This setting style uses the least amount of metal of all setting styles, allowing for maximum sparkle. The diamonds are set so that they literally pave the ring and are smooth to the touch.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
