Our experts will show you sample pieces and demonstrate different feature combinations to help you get a good sense of all of the options available to you as you move through the process, working to ensure you come away with a finished product that’s perfect in every way.
Center Setting
The only diamond in this ring is a large, round brilliant cut stone, and it’s cradled in a four-prong setting made of 18k white gold. The prongs all rise up from a single point directly below the diamond, angling away from each other gradually before curling upward over the girdle of the stone. The space between the prongs on each ring front is filled with an X shape that frames the lower portion of the diamond nicely and that provides a delicate, elegant touch. Diamond Engagement Rings
Customization Options
Customizing a ring like this could mean changing the metal used, as both rose and yellow gold are excellent options that would add a layer of contrast to the design. Selecting a different cut for the diamond, or even switching to another type of gemstone altogether is worth contemplating, as is adding some custom hand engraving on the band to complement the X detailing on the ring fronts.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
