Center Setting
The diamond at the center of this ring is one carat and princess cut. It sits in a four prong platinum setting that frames it beautifully, and the way the prongs curve up from below creates an elegant U shape on each of the ring fronts. Princess Cut Engagement Rings
Diamonds have long been the preferred stone for use in engagement rings, and the princess cut stone is second only to round brilliant cut in terms of popularity in the center. The clean lines and sharp corners of the diamond contrast subtly with the rounded ends of the prongs, while the knife edge design of the shank echoes those same elements to help unify the piece.
Diamond Accents and Band Design
This band design is commonly referred to as a knife edge thanks to the crest that runs all the way around the ring in the middle of the shank. That leaves the surfaces on either side of the knife edge slanting down towards the finger, and these each hold a line of pave set round diamonds nearly all the way down to the bottom of the band.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
