The client had a very clear idea of what she wanted, and we were able to work with her to create this truly elegant piece. The ring features a moissanite center stone, which is a popular alternative to the diamonds traditionally used in engagement rings and wedding bands. The cushion shaped Moissanite in a bezel setting that is accented with scroll filigree.
Moissanite Center
Moissanite is a very hard and exceptionally brilliant lab-grown gemstone. The natural crystal form was originally discovered in a meteor, which is one of the reasons this client wanted to incorporate it into her ring. The sparkling quality of the stone, as well as its origins, create a connection to space and the eternal nature of the cosmos that is quite compelling.
Of course, the stone itself is also lovely, and it is elegantly framed in this piece with a bezel setting. The cushion cut gives the ring a nice balance and an understated elegance, while still taking advantage of the beauty of the stone. Diamond Engagement Rings
Filigree and Shank
Although there are no other gemstones worked into this design, the ring does feature a delicate scroll filigree below the solitaire. This, like the rest of the shank, is fashioned from palladium, and it features a polished finish that compliments the gemstone nicely.
