This stunning engagement ring features a round blue sapphire prong set in rose gold, with bright cut set diamond accents running down the cathedral shank. It was created for a client from Los Angeles, CA, who found a ring that he liked on our website and requested that we make a few adjustments until it fit his vision of the perfect piece.

Center Sapphire
The round blue sapphire at the center of this ring is 1.66 carats, and it’s prong set in 14k rose gold. This creates a lovely contrast with the warm hue of the metal that really helps the sapphire shine, and the rounded, slightly curved prongs complement the sapphire’s shape nicely. Our client adjusted both the size and type of the center stone from what was used in his inspiration piece. The original ring featured a 1 carat diamond, but his choice of a blue sapphire really added some character and glamour to the presentation. He also changed the type of metal used from white to rose gold, which brought even more contrast and a lovely vintage flair to the design. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Diamond Accents
The tapered shank is lined with round bright cut set diamond accents, and these also taper in size as they reach the center setting and the band comes to a point. They stop half-way down the shank, providing just the right amount of sparkle and another layer of contrast while not overshadowing the sapphire at the top.

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
