Description
This elegant engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a four prong setting, accented by bright cut set diamonds running down both shoulders of the platinum shank. It was created for a client from Portland, OR, who initially visited our Bellevue, WA showroom in person, and then completed the custom design process online.

Center Diamond and Setting Design
At the center of this ring is a 1.06 carat round brilliant cut diamond that’s displayed beautifully in a four-prong platinum setting. The widest part of the diamond sits above the band, while the point continues down below the cathedral, and that helps give the piece a smooth, contemporary look. Diamond Engagement Rings
The prongs that hold the diamond cross over each other below the stone, and then continue up across the top part of the band as well. This subtle movement adds a lovely intricacy to the design, and it helps accentuate the presentation of the beautiful diamond at the top.
Diamond Accents
The diamonds running down the shoulders of the shanks are all round and bright cut set. They add a lovely sparkle to the piece, and they also provide a nice balance, as they mirror the shape of the center stone. This detail is especially evident when the ring is viewed straight on from the top down. The channel the diamonds sit in has an inverted V at the bottom as well, which is another subtle design touch that really adds to the overall impact of the piece.
Customization Options
There are many ways you can take this ring and customize it to make it better reflect your personal style. For instance, you could add some milgrain and hand engraving to the shank, which would take the piece in a much more vintage direction. You could also switch to a warmer rose gold to intensify that effect.
Alternately, you could use a colored sapphire or other gem in place of the center diamond or the accent stones. This is a great way to introduce color into the piece, and it also lets you include an item of personal significance like a birthstone or favorite color.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
