This stunning engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a tension setting, with bright cut set diamond accents lined with milgrain on both sections of the interlocking bands. It was created for a client from Bothell, WA, who was thrilled with the way it turned out. Center Setting
The diamond in the center of this ring is a 2.25 carat round brilliant cut stone. The wrapped tension setting cradling it arises naturally from the thinner outer band as it twists up and over the inner. This type of setting brings some contemporary flair to the piece, and it also securely holds the large stone, shielding it on all sides from the rigors of everyday wear. Diamond Engagement Rings
Interlocking Bands
The outer band of this piece is thinner and twisted, angling around the inner band to reach up and hold the center diamond. The inner band is wider, and it continues around in a straight, flat ring, crossing directly below the center setting at an angle that allows it to rest just inside the other.
Diamond and Milgrain Accents
Both bands in this piece have round bright cut set diamond accents beginning at the mid-point and running all the way up to the top. In the case of the inner band, these are larger diamonds, and they continue beneath the center setting, stopping at the mid-point on the other side. The diamonds on the outer band are smaller, and they taper slightly as the band angles up and narrows to transition into the center setting.
Milgrain beading lines all the accent diamonds in this ring, and it also continues around the wrapped tension setting at the top. This detail gives the ring a nice finished look, and it also adds just a hint of vintage flair to the otherwise contemporary design.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
