Description
This beautiful engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond at the top of a split shank, accented by custom filigree and hand engraving, as well as small sapphires and diamonds. It was created for a client from Port Orchard, WA, who reached out to us online to share his ideas for the type of ring he wanted.

We communicated with him primarily online throughout the production process, although he did visit our Bellevue, WA showroom in person to finalize the details of the ring and view a wax model before we moved his ring into production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Diamond and Filigree
The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.77 carat round brilliant cut diamond. At the client’s request, we researched lab-grown diamonds that would work with his budget and this setting, and he was very happy with the stone we found.
On either side of the center diamond, a beautiful custom filigree fills the space between the two strands of the split shank. The shape of the filigree incorporates scrolls into an organic design that introduces a whimsical aspect to the piece and works nicely with the hand-engraved pattern on the shank below.
Pink Sapphire and Diamond Accents
A single round pink sapphire is bezel set on each shank shoulder just at the spot where the filigree stops. Below this, three diamonds are bright cut set, and these taper in size moving away from the center to follow the contours of the band. The beautiful pink of the sapphire adds a wonderful burst of color as well as some romantic overtones to the design, and the diamonds below give the ring a nice balance and glamorous sparkle. Custom Hand Engraving
The top of the ring below where the diamonds stop is covered with a wheat-style pattern of custom hand engraving, and a complimentary pattern lines the ring fronts all the way up to the center setting. This hand engraving only stops briefly at the very bottom of the ring, and its elegant lines complement the flow of the ring nicely.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
