For their engagement ring, our clients chose a 2.22 carat marquise diamond to be set in an east-west orientation atop a sleek band, secured in place by two chevron prongs covering its pointed tips. From the sides, a dainty split in the shank extends to the basket allowing more light to penetrate the diamond, enhancing its radiance while adding a subtle layer of detail. From a finger view, the center diamond looks as if it’s a small floating boat. This specific look gives homage to the French name of the “marquise” which is known as the “navette” cut, meaning a small boat.
If you’re in love with this ring but would like a vintage style to it, you can consider adding milgrain lining to the shank sleek edges or combine it with hand engraving details. Options are endless, happy designing!
