This stunning engagement ring features a large oval diamond prong set in platinum and surrounded by a halo of bright cut set diamonds that continue down along the shank as well. It was created for a couple from Seattle, WA, who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to get the custom design process started. We worked closely with them, both through our online workroom and in person, to make sure that every detail of their piece was perfect before we started production, and they were very satisfied with the finished product.
Center Setting and Halo
The centerpiece of this ring is a 2.01 carat oval diamond that's displayed beautifully in a four-prong platinum setting. The clients knew just what size and quality of stone they wanted, but they were unsure about the shape initially. To address this issue, we brought in several options for them to take a look at in person and compare, and this allowed them to settle on the gorgeous oval stone at the top of this piece.
Surrounding the center is a halo of round bright cut set diamonds, and these add their own glamorous sparkle while also reflecting light back up onto the larger stone to help it shine more brilliantly. The smaller diamonds cover the side surface of the halo as well, and matching accent stones run down the top and fronts of the shank, creating a dazzling eternity band effect. In total, there are 223 accent diamonds in this piece, and they combine to total 1.03 carats.
Custom Wedding Sets
This design can be customized on its own or as part of a set that includes a matching wedding band as well. One way to create a truly dazzling look might be to have an eternity style wedding band in which the diamonds on the band match in size, setting style and placement with those on the engagement ring.
