Center Setting
The 0.45 carat Old European cut diamond sits atop this ring, which is framed beautifully by the four platinum prongs rising up from the cathedral shank to cradle it. These are joined on the sides by the four ends of the split shank, and this both eases the transition from band to center setting and adds some extra protection for the diamond. Two-tone Band and Diamond Accents
The shank itself is made from 14k rose gold, which brings some warmth and antique flair to the piece. The two-tone look was something our client was very interested in, and using platinum for the setting of the center diamond helped achieve this perfectly.
Three round diamonds are bright cut set on each shank shoulder beginning just before the band splits to join the main setting. This was a detail that our client was sure about from the beginning, and these accent stones provide just the right amount of sparkle to complement the center stone. They also contrast beautifully with the warm tones of the rose gold band, adding another layer of complexity to the two-tone themes of the design.
Hand Engraving and Milgrain
Most of the shank, on both the top and fronts, is covered with a lovely hand-engraved wheat pattern that ends at about the three-quarter point on the band. This is all lined with milgrain, as are the accent diamonds on the shank, which helps bring unity and a satisfying balance to the piece.
Our client initially wanted to eliminate milgrain in certain areas, but on our recommendation, he agreed to allow the engraver to choose where the milgrain would be to ensure it served as the perfect complement to the other design elements. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
