Following that initial consultation, we communicated with him online through the workroom we set up to manage his project. In this way, we shared CAD models of the piece with him, and he provided feedback that we used to adjust the model until he was completely satisfied. He did also come in again in person to view some options for the center stone and to ensure it was the perfect centerpiece to his ring. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Sapphire Center
The square blue sapphire that sits atop this piece is 0.81 carats, and its deep blue color is accentuated by the perfect lines of the cut. It’s held in place by four white gold prongs that cradle the corners, helping to protect them from damage while also highlighting the stone’s perfectly square shape.
Sapphires are nearly as hard as diamonds, making them a great alternative to fill the main spot in an engagement ring. They also come in a variety of colors, and that means you can use one to add some special meaning to your piece as well. For instance, picking a sapphire that’s the same color as your partner’s eyes is a wonderful way to work a personal connection into such a significant piece. Sapphire Engagement Rings
Diamond Halo and Accents
Surrounding the center sapphire is a squared halo of round split prong set diamonds. Our original design had the corners of the halo more pronounced, mirroring the shape of the sapphire exactly. After some consideration, however, the client decided he wanted a slightly softer look, and so we rounded the contours of the halo just a bit.
Split prong set diamonds also run down the shoulders of the shank, helping to tie the two sections of the ring together and providing some vintage flair along the way. As a finishing touch, round bright cut set diamonds line the basket below the center setting, which brings some surprise sparkle to the design as well.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
