Although he couldn’t visit our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, he communicated efficiently with our team using the online workroom we create for each custom order. In this way, he was able to see high-quality CAD renderings of the design, make the adjustments he wanted, and then approve the piece so we could put it into production.
Center Diamond
The center diamond of this ring is cushion cut and prong set in platinum. Cushion-cut diamonds are a beautiful option for the bride who is drawn to vintage-inspired engagement rings. Cushion cuts were popular for over a century and have been increasing in popularity especially with the revival of the antique style engagement rings. Diamond Engagement Rings
Diamond Accents
The basket holding the diamond, as well as the top of the knife edge shank down to the mid-point on the band, are lined with round bright cut set diamonds. These bring wonderful sparkle to the design, and they add some antique flair as well.
If you were looking to customize this design, one option might be to use a different setting style for these accent stones. For instance, you could go with a channel setting to bring a more contemporary feel to the ring. Alternately, you could add some milgrain beading to frame the accent diamonds and to add some vintage flair.
Shank Design
The shank itself features a knife edge all the way around, and this neatly divides the two rows of accent diamonds running down each shoulder. This feature works well with the angular nature of the rest of the design, which was just the look the client was after. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Joseph Jewelry
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
