Center Diamond
The diamond at the center of this ring is a beautiful cushion cut stone that’s held securely in an open four-prong setting. We initially thought we’d have to add rails on the fronts of the ring to make sure the setting was strong enough, but after some adjusting, we managed to eliminate those rails. The result is a clear view of the stone from both sides of the ring, and this really allows the beauty of the diamond to shine through. Diamond Engagement Rings
Split Shank and Accents
The platinum shank is solid on the bottom, but it splits into two strands as it nears the stone at the top. This helps maintain the balance of the piece as it transitions from the thin, delicate band up to the larger center setting holding the diamond. The way the split ends of the shank move up to cradle the main stone makes for a smooth, fluid presentation.
Starting at about the half-way point, the shank is also lined with bright cut set diamond accents. These begin as two parallel rows on either side, and then continue on, with one on each split strand of the shank, until they tuck under the center diamond. The rows of accent diamonds are also lined with milgrain, which brings a bit of vintage flair to the piece.
Style and Customization Options
This is an elegant and classic design, but it also offers many options for customization if you’re interested in adjusting it so it better reflects your individual style. For instance, you could go with a channel setting for the accent diamonds rather than the bright cut to give the ring a modern feel. Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
