Description
This elegant engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond prong set atop a criss-cross white gold shank, with diamond and milgrain accents on the band. It was created for a client from Kirkland, WA, who visited our Bellevue, WA showroom personally to initiate the custom design process and to approve the center diamond before we set it in his piece.

After his initial visit, our team put together a CAD model of his ring which we shared with him online. He asked for a few modifications to be made, specifically relating to the shape of the shank and the style of the center setting. Once we’d adjusted our model to meet his specifications, he gave approval to turn things over to our skilled artisans to begin production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Diamond
The stone at the center of this ring is a 1.01 carat round brilliant cut diamond, and it’s prong set in 18k white gold. The four prongs that make up the main setting rise almost straight up from the criss-cross shank below, and they hold the diamond securely while also giving a clear view of it from all sides.
Diamond and Milgrain Accents
Round bright cut set diamond accents run down the shoulders of the criss-cross shank, stopping right at the mid-point on the band. These complement the center stone nicely while also adding their own glamorous sparkle, and they’re lined with milgrain beading for a bit of vintage flair.
Band Design
The band is narrowest at the bottom, widening slightly as it moves up the sides. At the mid-point, it splits into two strands, and these cross over each other twice to make a figure eight on each shank shoulder before joining the base of the main setting. This figure eight was one of the main details the client wanted to make sure was exactly right, and we adjusted our model to match his vision.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
